Old Barn
US Highway 287, Texas

This old barn sits in a field on US Highway 287 just before Memphis, Texas.  It catches my eye every time I travel past.   Sadly, the remains of a house are just to the side of the barn.  This building has been empty so long that it’s starting to deteriorate from the weather and  weeds and grasses are slowly taking over the door ways.  I can’t help but wonder why someone (or a family) would have to just leave their home to rot away.
