Golden Rays (B & W) — Monochrome Madness Challenge

When looking for subjects for monochrome photos, I usually look for lots of lines and texture.  However, I decided to try something different this week.  I think this sunset has enough content for a monochrome photo.  I love how the monochrome version emphasizes the sun rays.  It’s almost like you can see the bright golden color of the sun just peaking over the trees.

A calm evening after a spring thunderstorm results in a glorious sunset reflecting off the water of Lake Kiowa.  Lake Kiowa is a small lake about an hour north of Dallas. Golden Rays (B & W)

“Golden Rays (B & W)” is my entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge. You can join the Monochrome Madness Challenge or view more monochrome photos by visiting Leanne Cole Photography. You can view my other Monochrome Madness Challenge entries by clicking on Monochrome Madness or by visiting my Monochrome Gallery.

You can view my post, Golden Rays, to see a color version of this photo.

Do you like monochrome photos? Do you still see the colors of the sunset when you look at this photo?
