Christmas at the Gaylord Texan

I hope you’ll indulge me as I share these photos from the Gaylord Texan Hotel even though we’re already past the holiday season.

Christmas at the Gaylord Texan Hotel

The Christmas decorations and lights at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas are amazing. You find yourself getting in the holiday spirit as you drive through the grounds of the hotel and see all the colorful lights decorating the trees.

As you enter the hotel, you see all the lights hanging from the extremely tall ceiling; then, you look up and you see that gigantic star in the center.

Continue through the hotel and you’ll see giant snowflakes, Christmas trees and Christmas plants.  There’s also a great miniature train display.  (Unfortunately, I  wasn’t able to get photos of the train on this trip.)  Among the traditional Christmas trees; you’ll see special trees like this one made from wine barrels.

You know you’re in Texas when you see a life-size windmill decorated with Christmas lights inside a hotel lobby.

It’s certainly worth dealing with the traffic and parking to see all the decorations and lights even if you don’t take part in any of the multitude of activities offered (that’s a post for next year).

Where’s your favorite spot for viewing Christmas decorations and lights?
