The cypress trees and the many aquatic plants at Caddo lake are an amazing sight to see.

Caddo Lake is the largest natural lake in Texas.  It’s located on the Texas and Louisiana border in North East Texas and North West Louisiana. (Three hours  west of Dallas and 30 minutes east ofShreveport.)  The lake roughly lies about half in Texas and half in Louisiana with the Louisiana side being more open water while the Texas side is more swamp like.  The lake  supports one of the
largest cypress growth swamps anywhere.   According to Caddo legend, the lake was formed by the 1812 New Madrid Earthquake.
