Looking for Fall
My hubby drove me to East Texas last weekend to look for fall colors. Many of the trees were already bare with their leaves in piles around their trunks. The trees with leaves left were either still green or in various stages of changing. The colors we did find weren’t as bright as usual because of the large rains the last few weeks.
Just Around the Bend
We found Davey Dogwood Park during our drive. It’s a fantastic little park with lots of gorgeous trees. According to the Texas Forest Trail website, “Davey Dogwood Park is home to more than 200 acres of picturesque roads meandering throughout the park…. This area includes over five and one-half miles of hard-surfaced roads.”

I used a monotone filter from the FX Photo Studio for this photo. I like the way it shows the different layers of the road, shadows, trees and leaves.
