It is amazing to me that this Oak tree has been growing in this spot for 50 years or more. I love looking at the from different angles. In this case, I’m standing near the trunk looking up into the tree. I find it interesting to see the sun shinning on the top leaves of the tree while the bottom leaves are dark and shadowy. I also like the contrast of shadow and light on the branches.

“Look Up” is my entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge. This week’s theme was “shadow”. Do you think “Look Up” fits the theme?

I love oak trees.
Our cottage was built around 1710 (older than the USA!) and in our living room we have an oak beam that has been estimated as being planted as an acorn around 1390AD… Puts us mere humans in our place really!

Wow! I bet your cottage is amazing. That beam must be something. We had few trees when we lived in the Texas Panhandle. Then, we moved to North Texas a few years ago & we have these giant oak, cedar and pine trees all around. I really don’t know how old our trees are; but the community was started in the late 50s. The trees were there at that time. – we bought an original lot. Long story – sorry. Lol
