A Joyful Life — Thoughtful Thursdays

JoyfulLife_RainyDayReflections

Joy is not a constant.  It comes to us in moments – often ordinary moments.  Sometimes we miss out on bursts of joy because we’re too busy chasing down the extraordinary moments.  Other times we’re so afraid of the dark we don’t dare let ourselves enjoy the light.  A joyful life is not a floodlight of joy.  That would eventually become unbearable.  I believe a joyful life is made up of joyful moments gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude and inspiration.
— Brene Brown

This quote really speaks to me.  I believe that we get so tied up in living life that we forget that joy can be found in everyday life.  It doesn’t have to be a holiday or birthday or special occasion in order to celebrate life.

This year, I am trying so hard to take time to enjoy all those small things that seem to get lost in a normal day.  Things like my grandson stopping by to give me a quick hug as he runs our the door or watching the blue bird that hangs around the bird feeder for a few moments  What small but joyful things can you find in your day?

Thoughtful Thursdays

As part of my 2018 goal to Spread Joy,  I am sharing quotes, poetry, photos and sometimes just my thoughts on Thursdays — Thoughtful Thursdays.  My hope is that these posts will help me (and maybe others) focus on the joys of life.

Thoughtful Thursday Link Up

I’d love to have others join me.  It’d be wonderful to have a full-page of great quotes, poetry and photos to share.   Simply email me at  rainydayreflections2015@gmail.com your positive or thoughtful quote, photo or poetry along with your post link by 2:00 PM CST each Wednesday. We are working on spreading joy; so please stay positive.  I’ll combine everything and post on Thursday afternoon.    (You do not have to be a Word Press blogger or write a post to participate; but I will post your link if you choose to write a post.)

Note:  I’m still looking for others to help me spread joy.  Please consider taking a moment to share a quote or your poetry for next week.  Thank you.
