Looking for Fall My hubby drove me to East Texas last weekend to look for fall colors. Many of the trees were already bare with their leaves in piles around their trunks. The trees with leaves left were either still green or in various stages of changing. The colors we did find weren’t as bright as usual … Continue reading

House Skeleton
Building A House During the past year, I’ve taken many, many photos of the various stages of our house building journey. The day that the crews started framing our house was exciting because we could actually see our house taking shape. I wanted a photo to represent the look of all the boards that formed the … Continue reading
Magically Spooky
ABFriday’s monthly One Photo Focus! I’ve taken on the ABFriday’s monthly One Photo Focus challenge. The participants in this challenge post-process the same image and share it on the One Photo Focus Forum. I’d like to improve my post-processing skills; so hopefully, this challenge will be fun and educational. Before Photo Anping Treehouse, Tainan, Taiwan by Helen … Continue reading
Sunset Beach
Sunset is one of my favorite times of the day. Sunset – those few peaceful moments just as the sun is setting that remind you that miracles happen everyday. Somehow it seems that a beautiful sunset makes me feel more positive and I can let the stress of the day slide away. That Magic Moment As a … Continue reading
Web or Knot
Trees have always fascinated me. I love taking photos of all types of trees. Sometimes the photos are of large groups of trees , an individual tree or as in this case just a portion of a tree. This Oak tree is located next to the east beach at Lake Kiowa, Texas. I was fascinated … Continue reading
Around the Bend
Looking For Fall Color Last fall, my hubby and I took a road trip to see the fall colors in Arkansas and Missouri. The leaves hadn’t changed colors yet; so we spent lots of time just driving around looking at the area. Should We or Shouldn’t We? We saw a sign off the main highway … Continue reading
Still Standing
This barn caught my eye as we were driving on a country road during a recent trip to Oklahoma. It looked abandoned and as if it had weathered many storms. The red roof was patchy and faded. The walls looked as if someone had started painting and then stopped. Though it was dark inside, I could … Continue reading
2015’s Blood Red Moon & Lunar Eclipse
These are of my photos of the blood red moon and lunar eclipse on September 27th, 2015. We aren’t use to living in the metroplex; so we left the house a little too late. It was more difficult to find a dark spot than we thought; so consequently, we missed the very first part of … Continue reading
Wind Giants
These wind generators were just being installed when I took this photo. The giant size of the generators fascinates me.– Notice the size of the cattle and the pickup next to the wind generators. According to National Wind Watch, the most widely used wind generator consists of 116-ft blades atop a 212-ft tower for a total … Continue reading
Old Texas Store Fronts
These fabulous old buildings can be found in Chillicothe, Texas. The buildings are crumbling and falling down now; but once were part of the flourishing downtown businesses. In 1950, the population of Chillicothe was 1411, but had declined to around 680 by 2013. Unfortunately, businesses had to close as people moved. Usually, the buildings remain empty for years until … Continue reading
