Willis Bridge
Lake Texoma, Texas
This view of Lake Texoma’s Willis Bridge from the Juniper boat ramp shows just how close to the water the bridge sits. The lake and surrounding areas flooded during the summer of 2015; consequently, the Juniper boat ramps were closed for much of the summer. The bridge remained in use during most of the rainy weather.
You can read more about the floods of 2015 in my posts Lake Texoma’s Historic Lake Level and Water Flows Over the Spillway at Lake Texoma.
From the parking lot of the Juniper Boat Ramp it is possible to get a great view of Willis Bridge while watching the boats zooming about on the lake. I took this right before sunset one cloudy day. The clouds seemed to take on a special glow as the sun reflected through them. The resulting purplish blue color was amazing.
You can read more about the Willis Bridge in my post Blue Sunset at Willis Bridge.
